Cookie Policy
1. About this policy
This Cookie Policy explains the cookies and similar browser-storage technologies used by coursivo.xyz (the “Site”), what each one does, and how to manage your preferences. It supplements our Privacy Policy and GDPR Policy.
2. What are cookies and similar technologies
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website to remember information between visits. We also use “local storage” - a related browser feature that allows a website to store small data items on your device for specific purposes such as theme preference and consent record. Both are covered by this policy.
3. Legal basis
Under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) and UK GDPR we may use strictly necessary cookies and storage without consent. Anything that is not strictly necessary requires your consent, which you can give, refuse, or withdraw at any time using the cookie banner shown on first visit and the controls described below.
4. Cookies and storage we use
4.1 Strictly necessary (no consent required)
These items are essential for the Site to function and for security. They cannot be turned off without breaking core features such as sign-in.
| Name | Purpose | Type | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| sb-<project>-auth-token | Maintains your authenticated session in the Client Portal. | HTTP-only cookie | Session, refreshed on use |
| sb-<project>-auth-token-code-verifier | Secures the OAuth / PKCE sign-in flow. | Cookie | Sign-in flow only |
| cv-cookie-consent | Records your cookie preference so the banner does not reappear. | Local storage | Persistent until cleared |
| cv-theme | Remembers your light or dark theme preference. | Local storage | Persistent until cleared |
4.2 Analytics (consent required)
These cookies are loaded only after you click Accept all in the cookie banner. They help us understand aggregated usage patterns. We do not use them for advertising, retargeting, or social-media tracking.
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| _ga | Google Analytics 4 | Distinguishes unique visitors. | 2 years |
| _ga_X5GTGCM32E | Google Analytics 4 | Maintains session state for our property. | 2 years |
| _clck | Microsoft Clarity | Persists Clarity user ID for the project. | 1 year |
| _clsk | Microsoft Clarity | Connects multiple page views into a single session. | 1 day |
| MUID | Microsoft Clarity | Identifies a unique browser across Microsoft properties. | 1 year |
| ANONCHK | Microsoft Clarity | Indicates the MUID has been transferred and validated. | 10 minutes |
| SM | Microsoft Clarity | Synchronises the MUID across Microsoft domains. | Session |
We enable IP anonymisation in Google Analytics. Microsoft Clarity may capture click and movement patterns and replay anonymised sessions; sensitive form fields are masked by default.
5. Third-party services
Our payment processor, Gumroad, may set its own cookies on its checkout pages when you complete a purchase. Those cookies are governed by Gumroad’s own privacy and cookie notices. We do not control them.
6. Managing your preferences
You can change or withdraw your cookie preferences at any time by clearing the cv-cookie-consent entry in your browser’s storage, or by clearing the Site’s storage entirely; the consent banner will reappear and you can choose again.
Most browsers also let you block or delete cookies through their settings. Note that blocking strictly necessary cookies will sign you out of the Client Portal and may prevent secure features from working.
7. Changes to this policy
We will update this policy when we add or remove cookies or storage items. The “Last updated” date at the top of the page reflects the most recent change.
8. Contact
